Shibmandir

Artist: Subodh Roy

The theme of the Pandal is "No to Human Cloning"

In the age of digital revolution and technological advancement, Shibmandir through its unique theme has ensured that it proves that all the concepts being used today are from the books of our past and answers from our mythology. Shibmandir has come forward to preserve individuality.

They have portrayed a path from mythology to science and significantly left no stone unturned to rediscover the scientific concept of "Raktabij". Raktanij was that guise of the demon Mahisasur which got a new birth from one drop of blood and got multiplied with time.

Ma Durga according to Hindu mythology had appeared in her Chamumda image and hindered the drops of blood from falling to the floor and thus prevented the multiplication of demons. Today the process of cloning can frame a replica of any being and thus the individual identity of the original being gets spoilt. The theme has upheld that Maa Durga is killing all the clones of the demons and urging for the persistence of individuality.
